 |
| |
The Alexandria University Desalination Studies and Technology Center -
ADST - was first established in 1998 at the Faculty of Engineering,
Alexandria University, Alexandria, Egypt to promote the improvement of water
supplies through desalinating reuse and other water sciences, and to
encourage the exchange of the state of the art of treatment technologies. It
is now directly affiliated to Alexandria University. ADST is the national

an area with abundant natural and human resources. The
university is located conveniently within a large and still
growing industrial and touristic base, extending along the north
coast, where the development of resort villages is expanding for
more than 300 kilometers to the west of Alexandria, with scarce
water resources. This provides a base for industries with a
significant potential for water desalination. |
